C263

C263, (or Cobalt 263 to give it its full name) from NeoNickel is an age-hardening, nickel based super alloy that combines outstanding strength over long periods of time with tremendous fabrication characteristics in the annealed condition.

Superb Adaptability

One of the main strengths of C263 is its adaptability when being welded; indeed it can be welded using most familiar techniques, such as TIG welding, gas metal arc welding, electron beam and resistance welding. It is not recommended to be used in oxyacetylene or submerged arc processes.

Suitable for Industries The World Over

This material is normally used in an age hardened condition and, while its strength at higher temperatures is not as formidable as other materials, it more than makes up for it with the ease at which it can be formed and welded. It is these factors that have seen it become a highly sought after material with companies in a wide range of industries the world over.

Immense Strength

C263 can be utilised in a whole host of applications in temperatures of up to 900 degrees Celsius, (1650 degrees Fahrenheit); where it combines immense strength and tensile ductility with a high resistance to age cracking problems. Allied to this is the fact that it is non-magnetic and demonstrates a high resistance to oxidisation. It is these properties that make C263 the perfect metal for usage in turbines, both in land based and aircraft engine turbines.
